Habitat & species context
Poquoson has a long, real working-waterman history (see this guide's own Culture section) centered on crabbing and shellfishing in the Back River/Poquoson River tidal flats — a genuinely relevant area for this guide's overall geographic coverage, even though this research pass could not independently confirm current specific public-ground boundaries to the same standard as the James River seed area.
